From Wiktionary under the GNU Free Documentation License. Society or human society is the manner or condition in which the members of a community live together for their mutual benefit. By extension, society denotes the people of a region or country, sometimes even the world, taken as a whole. Used in the sense of an association, a society is a body of individuals outlined by the bounds of functional interdependence, possibly comprising characteristics such as national or cultural identity, social solidarity, language or hierarchical organization. Human societies are characterized by patterns of relationships between individuals sharing a distinctive culture and institutions. Like other communities or groups, a society allows its members to achieve needs or wishes they could not fulfill alone. A society, however, may be ontologically independent of, and utterly irreducible to, the qualities of constituent individuals; it may act to oppress. The urbanization and rationalization inherent in some, particularly Western capitalist, societies, has been associated with feelings of isolation and social "anomie". More broadly, a society is an economic, social or industrial infrastructure, made up of a varied collection of individuals. Members of a society may be from different ethnic groups. A society may be a particular ethnic group, such as the Saxons; a nation state, such as Bhutan; a broader cultural group, such as a Western society. The word society may also refer to an organized voluntary association of people for religious, benevolent, cultural, scientific, political, patriotic, or other purposes. A "society" may even, though more by means of metaphor, refer to a social organism such as an ant colony. From Wikipedia under the

Q. I have 3 Society Finches that were born in the spring, so they're 6-9 months old. I found out there's two males and one female. Once they pair up and all, how old do they have to be to start mating? Asked by Holly - Wed Oct 28 12:45:39 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments A. A good age for your society finches to start breeding is 9 months old. You also need to make sure your society finches are in good breeding condition. They need to be on a well-balanced diet with plenty of calcium. Calcium is needed for egg formation and so that the female doesn't become egg bound. Also, don't breed any ill or molting finches. Q. I would like to open an account with a bank or building society (so that I can make some interest on my salary). Which building society would allow me to open an account quickly without a credit check? Asked by Spezza2007 - Sat Dec 1 20:48:17 2007 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments A. Believe it or not, UK Banks do make some effort to reject individuals with poor credit records (or those currently Bankrupt). So all UK Banks WILL check your Credit record before deciding to offer you an account - however you can insist on a 'Basic' account (no Credit Card, no Overdraft) and most banks will provide one (typically it will come with a Debit Card). You may find it easier to go into a high street branch with your Passport, Birth Certificate and something that shows your current address (Driving License, Utility Bill etc), together with you latest wages slip.
